London 2012 Olympic Games - Opening Ceremony

For the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, Howard Eaton Lighting Ltd designed, engineered and built the iconic Olympic Rings that ascended and flew dramatically through the stadium during the Industrial Revolution sequence.

Our scope included the structural and mechanical development of the flying system, alongside the integration of lighting, pyro effects and the distinctive molten orange glow that defined the moment. The result was one of the ceremony’s most powerful visual statements and a technically complex, precision-engineered centrepiece delivered on a global stage.
